I completed cosmetology school and worked at a high-end salon as a hair stylist and colourist for a few years. I also trained with MAC cosmetics in make-up artistry. I've always had an artsy side; you can tell by looking back at my doll's hair when I was little and all of the beautiful murals I scribbled on the walls with crayons! I now fulfill my passion in a more practical way by getting creative with my home decor, decorating cakes/cupcakes, and any other little craft that captures my interest. My priorities shifted after having a family to nurture and raise. I can't even put into words the love and commitment I have for my husband and children. I started living in a more holistic way and I got my certification as a health coach and yoga instructor.
In 2003, Chris served a mission for two years in Lisbon, Portugal where he completely submersed himself in their culture. He learned their language, ate their food and walked all along the streets sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with anyone willing to listen. Chris graduated from CBU with a degree in Political Science and commissioned into the Marine Corps as an officer in Ground Intelligence. He enjoys studying terrorism and is currently learning how to speak Arabic (that would make him quadrilingual!). Chris also enjoys politics, shooting, training in MMA, and his favorite pastime; surfing! I feel like the luckiest girl to have such a wonderful man in my life and such a great example to my children.
Three years into our marriage we decided to start a family. Our precious son Lincoln was born in September, 2010 and he changed our lives for the better. Two months after his birth, we had another miracle on the way! Our beautiful little Ella joined our family in August, 2011. Yes, that means my babies are 11 months apart! I've learned to love the chaos... to add to that, we welcomed our pretty little Ivy in September, 2013! They keep my hands full, but my heart fuller.
If there is one thing I
I started this blog as our own family memory book and little journal, that's why there are tons of pictures and other personal documentations. I want to be able to look back and see all the things we did, where we've been , and how it led us to where we are. Hopefully it'll also serve as a great way for our family and friends to keep up on our lives since we'll be so far from home. My life is an open book and I'd love to share and connect with you too!
