our 4th of july in Virginia Beach

I love living so close to the beach!! It is literally a 10 minute walk from our place (less if I didn't have this very pregnant waddle going on). So where else would we spend Independence Day but at the beach!

Come along with us and enjoy the VB we've come to love!

Thanksgiving in DC

Livin' the m life...

currently in Virginia...

about 3000 miles away from home...

means most of our holidays are spend apart from our families. Sure does make me appreciate the family I'm missing and appreciate my little family of 4. I feel so blessed to have such an amazing man, sweet little boy, and spunky little girl in my life. Words fall short to describe the love I have for my little family.

I could go on and on about what I'm thankful for, but I'll skip to the fun part, our Thanksgiving in DC!
first stop: the FEAST. and boy, was it a feast! Chris chose this Brazilian barbeque restaurant where they are constantly bring out different kinds of meat. He was in heaven! We ate every kind of animal you can think of...AMAZING! (sorry PETA).

next stop: the White House. I love this city at night, especially during the holidays. DC is full of character, the buildings are so beautiful, and the atmosphere there is just so... chill (for lack of a better word)!
our view of the Capitol building.
 This is definitely a Thanksgiving we will always treasure.

Halloween {part 3}

This year for Halloween the kids and I had a little 'slumber party' and watched movies together.
Then we handed out candy to kids... and babies........ and adults...
for about an hour before their bed time.
Every time they heard a knock, they jumped up, ran to the door, and knocked back.
Once I opened the door, they started putting handfuls of candy
into each kid's bag... unless it was a scary costume.
It was so cute seeing Ella hand out the candy and towards the end she started chucking it at the kids!
It was a great night in with my babes.

Halloween {part 2}

Today was our wards Trunk-or-Treat! The kids still don't under stand how to trick-or treat and I felt really weird encouraging them to take candy from strangers! Lincoln wanted to immediately eat every candy he got and Ella put her candy into other kids bags. ha ha ha. At least they had fun!

Halloween {part 1}

Fallon threw a fun little Halloween play date at the park yesterday for the kids. She made these yummy spider pot pies and I made some mini mummy hot dogs. It was so nice having our hubbies there too!
Isn't this the cutest little turle, rain cloud, chick, and skunk you've ever seen!?
